Sepanggar

Federal State

Sepanggar, also Sepangar or Sapangar, is a city on the west coast of the state of Sabah in Malaysia. Sepanggar belongs to the outskirts of the capital Kota Kinabalu and is a sub-district of the management of Dewan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu ( Kota Kinabalu City Council ) assigned.

Location

Sepanggar is located about 7 kilometers north of the city center of Kota Kinabalu and extends along the Sepanggar Bay.

Facilities

Sepanggar has not grown urban infrastructure, it is rather a typical bedroom community. In addition to housing estates of the district consists of mainly

  • Industrial areas ( Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park ( KKIP ) )
  • Port facilities ( Sepanggar Bay Container Terminal, Sepanggar Bay Oil Terminal )
  • Educational institutions (Campus Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS ), Universiti Teknologi MARA Sabah, Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic ) and
  • A naval base of the Royal Malaysian Navy.

Container Terminal

After commissioning of the container terminal Sepangar Container Port Terminal, the entire container handling was relocated here from the port of Kota Kinabalu.

Naval Base

After removing hosts the Naval Base since 2010, two built in Spain submarines Scorpène class, the KD Tunku Abdul Rahman and KD Tun Razak.

1Borneo

The shopping mall opened in 2008, " 1Borneo " is the largest shopping center in Borneo.

Policy

Sepanggar part of the constituency p.171 ( Sepanggar ) and is in the Malaysian Parliament by YB Enchin 'm Majimbun ( Barisan Nasional ) represented. In the Legislative Assembly of Sabah ( Dewan Negeri Sabah Undangan ) Sepanggar falls into the constituencies N.12 ( Karambunai ) and N.13 ( Inanam ).
