Sirákov

Sirákov ( German Sirakow, also Sirakau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers northeast of Polná and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Sirákov located at the northern foot of the hill Blažkov ( 693 m) Mountains in the Arnolecké. The Bohemian town is located one mile west of the historic border with Moravia and the main European watershed between the Elbe and Danube. West of the Na Hranicích rises (632 m).

Neighboring towns are Nížkov in the north, and Rosička Matějov in the northeast, Újezd ​​in the east, in the southeast Bohdalov, Rudolec and Samotín in the south, Milov, Janovice and Skrýšov the southwest, Poděšín in the west and Špinov in the northwest.

History

Sirákov built in the 13th century during the colonization of virgin forests in the Bohemian border with Moravia. Belonging to the reign of Pol na village was first mentioned in 1318 in a court record an action for damages of Polna lords Vikard Polna against the Vladiken Billung of Schumberg and Bohunek Popovic because of robbery and assault on Sirákov, Poděšín and Nížkov.

1725 was the Moravian German domination Rudoletz northeast of the Blažkov on the border at the crossroads of Sirákov after Újezd ​​and Rudoletz after Matějov build a guest house, which soon became notorious as a den of thieves. At the end of the 19th century it was demolished.

After the abolition of patrimonial Sirákov formed in 1850 a municipality in the administrative district of Polna and from 1878 in the district Deutschbrod. Since 1949, the community is part of the Okres Zdar nad Sázavou. Sirákov today consists of 65 permanently -residential houses. In addition, there are nine cottages in the village.
