Strážek

Strážek ( German Straschkau ) is a Městys in the Czech Republic. He more than twelve kilometers south-west of Bystřice nad Perštejnem and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Strážek is located in the Valley of the Bobruvka in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. To the south rises the Strážnice ( Straschkauer mountain, 550 m) and in the northwest the Baršovice ( 543 m).

Neighboring towns are Zábršův Mlýn and Dolni Rozsíčka in the north, Horni Rozsíčka and Bukov in the northeast, Mitrov in the east, Habří, Nový Dvůr Krčma and Meziboří the southeast, Dolni Libochová in the south, Radkov and Radkovičky the southwest, Jehnice and Moravec in the west and Mirošov in the northwest.

History

According to ancient traditions is in Strážek since 1158 have stood a castle, later in their place, the church was built. The first written mention of the village took place in 1338. 1375 Strážek was first referred to as a town. Until 1560 Strážek belonged to the rule Mitrov, then the Straschkauer goods were separated therefrom and credited to the reign Moravec. 1662 was the first school.

After the abolition of patrimonial Stražkov formed in 1850, market town in the district Nove Mesto. Since the end of the 19th century in the place name Strážek common. In 1949 the parish was assigned nad Perštejnem in the wake of the dissolution of Okres Nové Město na Moravě the Okres Bystřice. In 1961 the village to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou. On 10 October 2006, the city was given its status of a Městys. Strážek today consists of 204 homes.
