Světnov

Světnov ( German Zwitnuf, also Swietnow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers north of Zdar nad Sázavou and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Světnov is located in the southwest of Saarer mountains in the valley of the Sázava below the confluence of the creek Sklenský creek. The belonging to Bohemia City is surrounded on the north, east and south, two kilometers away from the historic border with Moravia. South of the village lies the pond strz and north of the smaller pond Pstružák. To the north rises the Tisůvka ( 792 m), to the east the Hudecká skalka ( 779 m), Brožová skalka (786 m), Čapův vrch ( 733 m ) and Cesky kopeček ( 763 m). West leads past the main road I/37 of Zdar nad Sázavou after Ždírec nad Doubravou.

Neighboring towns are Cikháj in the north, Fryšava pod Žákovou horou and Tři Studně in the east, Sklené and Čvrtě the southeast, Počítky, Vysoke, Pod strži and Zámek Zdar in the south, Stržanov and Polnička the southwest, Račín and Nový Mlýn in the west and Velké Dářko and Škrdlovice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of a situated close to the riser Libitzer Swietiner Court ( Světinův dvůr ) took place in 1366th Over the years, the settlement Světinov, the 1462 to find the first time in the land register of the Cistercian monastery Saar developed around the yard.
