Trevor Smith (ice hockey)

Trevor Smith (born 8 February 1985 in Ottawa, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who stands in July 2013 in the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Trevor Smith began his active career as a hockey player in the 2003/04 season with the Quesnel Millionaires in the Junior League BCHL. In his debut season, he completed 44 games for the Millionaires and scored 47 points scorer. For the following season, the Omaha Lancers Smith joined in the United States Hockey League and reached in his only season for the team in 65 games a total of 72 points. The following year, Smith began studying at the University of New Hampshire and went for their Ice Hockey team in the Hockey East on the ice. After he was never drafted, the links Sagittarius signed on 2 April 2007 as a free agent with the New York Islanders. As a result, Smith was parked at their farm team, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League and completed until the end of season 2006/ 07 eight games for the Sound Tigers.

The following season, Smith spent with the team from Bridgeport, Connecticut and was in the same season also for the Utah Grizzlies in the ECHL in use. During the following season he made his debut for the New York Islanders in the National Hockey League, as the links contactors in seven games, was on the ice and it was able to record his first goal in the NHL. Since he never had a regular place in the Islanders, Smith was again much one time at their farm team, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the AHL. After spending the 2009/10 season exclusively in the American Hockey League, Smith was offered a new contract with the Islanders. On 2 July 2010, he signed a temporary one-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks.

After spending training camp with the Anaheim Ducks, Smith was sent to the second squad reduction to the Syracuse Crunch. In January 2011 he was transferred to the Columbus Blue Jackets in a transfer business in exchange for Nate Guenin and then sent to the farm team for the Springfield Falcons. On 5 July 2011, Smith signed a Zweiwegvertrag for a year with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

In July 2013 he signed a one year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
