Troy Polamalu ( born April 19, 1981 in Garden Grove, California) is an American professional American football player at the position of the Strong Safeties. He plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League ( NFL).

Polamalu was selected in the first round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. For the Steelers, he was nominated from 2004 to 2008 every year for the Pro Bowl.

On 5 February 2006, he won with the Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl XL against the Seattle Seahawks on 1 February 2009, he won his second Super Bowl ( Super Bowl XLIII) also with the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Arizona Cardinals.

On 31 January 2011, he Defensive Player of the Year was named to the AP. In the election, he was able to prevail among other things, against the Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews.
