United States congressional delegations from New Jersey

This list lists all the politicians who have belonged to the House of Representatives of the United States for the state of New Jersey since 1789. New Jersey was represented in the first and second Congress each with four deputies in the parliament chamber; this number increased in the following decades, steadily. First time in 1963 by a Member for the 15th legislative district was selected. After adjustments for the respective censuses are still twelve politician from New Jersey in the House of Representatives in Washington DC represented. Since 1843, the state is divided into electoral districts; previously been selected mainly government- wide ("at large" ). Exceptions were only the elections of 1798, as election districts were formed for the first time, and in 1813, when three districts existed briefly in each of which two MPs were elected.
