Victoria Azarenka
Wiktoryja Fjodarauna Azarenka ( Belarusian Вікторыя Фёдараўна Азаранка; Russian Виктория Фёдоровна Азаренко / Viktoriya Feodorovna Asarenko, English spelling Victoria Azarenka, born July 31, 1989 in Minsk ) is a Belarusian tennis player. The current world No. 2 ranking domiciled in Monte Carlo.

Career
To Asarankas early successes include winning the title of the ITF Junior World Champion 2005 and the second round appearances at the 2008 French Open and 2007 at the U.S. Open, where she Svetlana Kuznetsova was beaten.
In addition, she won the mixed 2007, together with Max Mirny the U.S. Open. At the Australian Open, the two lost the final against Jelena Lichowzewa and Daniel Nestor. The following year, she reached in Melbourne with Shahar Peer the doubles final.

In doubles, she won the tournaments of Indian Wells ( with Vera Swonarjowa ) and Memphis ( with Caroline Wozniacki ). In the final of the French Open, she was defeated at the side of Jelena Wesnina mating Anabel Medina Garrigues / Virginia Ruano Pascual.
2010
Azarenka won her fourth WTA tournament in Stanford. You defeated in the final, Sharapova Marija clear in two sets. The finals of Dubai and Eastborne she lost to Venus Williams and Ekaterina Makarova. In the semifinals of Montreal they had against Swonarjowa after losing the first set in the second to give up due to injury. 2011
When grass tournament of Wimbledon Azarenka was on the way to the semifinals only at 6:3, 3:6, 6:2 over Daniela Hantuchova a set from. 2012
With a three-set victory over defending champion Li Na in the final of Sydney she secured her ninth WTA single title. At the Australian Open, she was able to record with a 6-3, 6-0 final victory over Sharapova her first title at a Grand Slam tournament. This also took over the lead in the world rankings. Azarenka became undisputed and without dropping a set the tournament in Doha two weeks later in Indian Wells and the fourth tournament in a row. With 26 wins in a row she managed the best start to the season in the WTA history since Martina Hingis in 1997 - in the quarterfinals of Miami ended their series with a defeat against Marion Bartoli. Due to the semi-finals of Wimbledon, where she succumbed to the later champion Serena Williams in straight sets, she was able to return to the top of the world rankings again. At the 2012 Olympic Games Azarenka won the bronze medal in singles. After she was clearly inferior to the semi-finals Serena Williams in straight sets, she kept with 6-3, 6-4 against Kirilenko the upper hand. In the Mixed Competition Azarenka won with Max Mirny the final against Laura Robson and Andy Murray in three sets. With this gold she won her second Olympic medal.
2013
The end of January Azarenka defended her individual title at the Australian Open, she defeated Li Na in the final in three sets ( 4:6, 6:4, 6:3 ). At the French Open she failed Maria Sharapova in the semifinals on.
