Villeneuve, Aosta Valley

Villeneuve is a town in the autonomous region of Aosta Valley. The municipality has 1267 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012), is on the orographic right side of the Dora Baltea and has a size of 8 km ².

The community belongs to the community association Comunità Montana Grand Paradis and is its chief town. The neighboring communities are called Arvier, Aymavilles, Introd, Saint- Nicolas, Saint- Pierre and Valsavarenche. Villeneuve is located in the Gran Paradiso National Park.

The old church of Mary into heaven was already mentioned in 1184 in the papal documents. The Tour Colin, a residential tower, dates from the 13th century.
