Saint-Nicolas, Aosta Valley

Saint -Nicolas is an Italian municipality in the autonomous region of Aosta Valley. The municipality has 315 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012), is on the orographic left side of the Dora Baltea to an average height of 1200 m slm and has a size of 15 km ².

The neighboring communities are called Arvier, Avise, Saint Pierre and Villeneuve.

The scattering community is spread over a vast plateau that falls in steep steps to the valley of the Dora Baltea.

The Parish Church was mentioned in papal documents of the year 1176.

During the Fascist period, the village was the Italianate name of San Nicola d' Aosta.
