Yuliya Chepalova

Julija Anatoljewna Tschepalowa (Russian Юлия Анатольевна Чепалова, French transcription Julija Tchepalova; born December 23, 1976 in Komsomolsk-on- Amur, Khabarovsk Territory ) is a former Russian cross-country skier. She is a multiple Olympic gold medalist and world champion. His second wife is married to the Russian cross-country skiers Vasily Vasilyevich Rotschew. Due to a doping offense, she was detained for two years in 2009, after which she declared her retirement from competitive sport.

Sporting career

After winning a total of five medals at the Junior World Championships Tschepalowa participated in the 1995/96 season for the first time participate in World Cup races. She celebrated her first major success at the 1998 Winter Olympics by winning the gold medal in the 30 km race. She was thus the youngest cross-country skiing Olympic champion.
