Ždánice (Žďár nad Sázavou District)

Ždánice ( German Schdanitz, also Zdanitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located three kilometers north of Bystřice nad Perštejnem and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Ždánice is on the left above the valley of Bystřice in the source basin of the creek Ždánický creek in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. To the east lies the ruins Auersperk and north the dam Vir I. North-east rises the Přední skala (712 m).

Neighboring towns are Vítochov and Karasín in the north, Hrdá Ves and Vir in the northeast, Jitřenka in the east, in the southeast Dvořiště, Bystřice nad Perštejnem and Domanínek in the south, Domanín in the southwest and Janovičky and Písečné in the northwest.

History

The first mention of the place was in 1220, when the forest U Ždánic was listed as owned by the Bystřice parish. The first written mention of the village lifelong transfer all revenues from Ždánice by Stepan Pernštein family of daughter Zdeslava viewed at the parish in Bystřice in 1287.

After the abolition of patrimonial Ždánice formed in 1850 a municipality in the district Nove Mesto. In 1949 the congregation to Okres Bystřice nad Perštejnem and 1961 Okres Zdar nad Sázavou. 1980, the annexation to Bystřice nad Pernštejnem. Since 1992, the community is Ždánice again.
