1972 Major League Baseball Draft

The MLB Draft in 1972 was the eighth Draft, which was organized by Major League Baseball. In the first place, Dave Roberts was selected by the San Diego Padres.


Some of the most important drafts in June were Rick Manning of the Cleveland Indians and Scott McGregor of the New York Yankees in the first round. Were also selected in the first round Chet Lemon of the Oakland Athletics, Larry Christenson of the Philadelphia Phillies and the selected first Dave Roberts of the San Diego Padres.
