2000–01 Serie B
The season 2000/ 01 Serie B started on September 3, 2000 and ended on 10 June 2001. With the AC Turin, Piacenza Calcio and AC Venice managed three clubs in the direct re- promotion to Serie A. All four League newcomers managed to avoid relegation. Relegated Ravenna Calcio was denied a license for the Serie C1 due to financial problems, dissolved and then re-founded in the sixth- highest division. Scorer was Nicola Caccia Piacenza Calcio with 23 goals this season.
