2003–04 Heineken Cup

The Heineken Cup 2003 /04 was the ninth edition of the Heineken Cup, the main European cup competition in rugby union. It involved 24 teams from six countries. The final took place on 23 May 2004 at Twickenham Stadium in London. Cup winners were the London Wasps, Stade Toulousain, the French beat in the final.

Mode

The participants were divided into six groups of four teams. Each team played one home and one away match against the three group opponents. For the first time ever there was a bonus points system for use. In the group stage the teams received

  • Four points for a win
  • Two points for a draw
  • A bonus point with four or more experiments
  • A bonus point for a loss by fewer than seven points difference

For the quarter final, qualified the six group winners and two best runners-up.
