2013–14 Heineken Cup

The Heineken Cup 2013/14 is the 19th edition of the Heineken Cup, the most important European cup competition in rugby union. It involved 24 teams from six countries. The competition began on October 11, 2013, the final will take place on 24 May 2014 for the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff instead. Titleholder is the French club RC Toulon.

Mode

The participants were divided into six groups of four teams on 5 June 2013. The seeding order based on the results of individual clubs in the preceding years. Each team will play one home and one away match against the three group opponents. In the group stage will receive the teams:

  • Four points for a win
  • Two points for a draw
  • A bonus point with four or more experiments
  • A bonus point for a loss by seven points or less difference

For the quarterfinals, the six group winners ( the number of points obtained in the squares 1-6 classified) and the two best runners- conditioned squash courts ( 7-8 classified). Teams ranked 1-4 have home advantage in the quarter-finals. It play the first against the Eighth, the second against the Seventh, the third party against the Sixth and Fourth against the fifth. Three of the four remaining runners-up will qualify for the quarter-finals of the European Challenge Cup 2013 / 14th
