2008–09 EHF Women's Champions League
At the Champions League season 2008/ 09 participated in a total of 32 handball club teams that were in the previous season in their home countries qualify for the competition. 16 of them moved into the group stage. It was the 49th staging of the EHF Champions League and the European Cup of Champions. The Champions League games began in September 2008, return Final Round was held in May 2009. Zvezda Zvenigorod was the defending champion. Viborg HK has, in the season won the Champions for the second time League of women.

16 Of the 32 teams reach the first group stage. The first two of each group will go into the second group stage, in which they play in two groups. The first two of these groups then play the semi-finals in the knockout system. All throw-off times are determined by the home venue (time zones ).
