2012 Latvian Higher League

The Virsliga 2012 was the 21st season of the highest Latvian football league of gentlemen since its foundation in 1992. Officially bears the League name LMT Virsliga ( Latvijas Mobilais phone Virsliga ) and is discharged from the Latvian Football Federation. The season began on 24 March and ended on 10 November 2012. Defending champion was FK Ventspils, which was last year for the fourth time in the club's history Latvian champion. Latvian champion in 2012 was the first time the FC Daugava Daugavpils.

Course of the season

The league was again held this year with ten teams. This Decided the Latvian Football Federation at a meeting on 9 December 2011. Climbers from the 1st League are the FS Metta - LU and the FK Spartak Jurmala. The FK Jurmala -VV changed his name to FK Daugava Riga. The Championship was held in a regular time in two round and two rear round games. Each team came here four times against any other team. The FK Ventspils as the defending champion won in his first game against league newcomer FK Spartak 3-2. The-table FB Gulbene dismounted in the first second-rate league, the ninth -placed FK Daugava Riga played in the Relegation against the BFC Daugava.
