2013 Rally Sweden

The 61st Rally Sweden lasted from 7 to 10 February 2013. A total of 22 special stages were driven on snow and ice. Four stages were driven across the border in Norway and one in Swedish, as well as on Norwegian soil. Sébastien Ogier won the first rally with the Polo R WRC for Volkswagen.

Day 1 ( Thursday, February 7th )

After the start in Karlstad Sébastien Loeb led a half second before Evgeny Novikov.

Day 2 ( Friday, February 8 )

The Rally Sweden was first launched properly on the second day. Ogier wins five of six stages and took the lead with 32.2 seconds ahead of Sebastien Loeb. To rank two fought Loeb and Latvala, Østberg them comes closer and closer. Hirvonen remained stuck in the snow in the morning and a similar thing happened in special stage six Dani Sordo, both lost a lot of time.

Day 3 (Saturday, 9 February),

Also on Saturday Ogier drove three best times and led clearly ahead of compatriot Loeb. Although Loeb won three stages, but landed briefly in the ditch because he missed the braking point before the hairpin curve. As he touched in WP 14, a snow wall and damaged the bumper. Mads Østberg walked past Jari -Matti Latvala and was now on a podium. Evgeny Novikov drove faultlessly and finished 5th. Thierry Neuville overtook his team mate Juho Hänninen, because it drove into a snow hill in the last special stage of the day.

Day 4 ( Sunday, February 10 )

Volkswagen has already won the second World Cup race of the season after the debut in the World Rally Championship in Monte Carlo. With a lead of 41.8 seconds Loeb managed to surprise. Ogier also won the Power Stage and came in the championship to 46 points and took the lead. Mads Østberg stood in third place on the podium in Sweden. Evgeny Novikov turned over to the special stage Kirkener 2 and slide from 5th to 9th circuit Rank from. Dani Sordo scored in the second to last WP a rock and slid next to the road, Sordo then had to finish the rally.
