The Rijksweg 9 is a highway that runs in a north -south direction in the northwestern part of the Netherlands. It starts at Knooppunt Diemen in the east of Amsterdam and runs from Alkmaar more than N9 to Den Helder. The highway surrounds Amsterdam almost complete, they met in the southern part of Amsterdam, the duties of a motorway ring. She runs past the Schiphol airport and Haarlem. After that it runs in a northerly direction to the southern part of Alkmaar, from there it passes further than N9 west of Alkmaar over, as a ring around Alkmaar, to De Kooy, a suburb of the municipality of Den Helder. From the end of the N9 the N250 continues to the port of Den Helder, where ferry services consist, inter alia, to Texel.
