Akat Amnuai District

Amphoe Akat Amnuai ( Thai: อำเภอ อากาศอำนวย ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of the province of Sakon Nakhon. The Sakon Nakhon Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Neighboring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Seka in the province of Nong Khai, the Amphoe Na Thom, Si Songkhram and Na Wa in the province of Nakhon Phanom, and Amphoe Phanna Nikhom, and Kham Ta Kla Wanon Niwat in the province of Sakon Nakhon.

History

Akat Amnuai was established initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) on 15 May 1963 by the four Tambon Akat, Wa Yai, Phon Phon Ngam Phaeng and were separated from Amphoe Wanon Niwat. On July 27, 1965 Akat Amnuai was promoted to Amphoe.

Administrative units

The circle is divided into eight subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 92 villages ( Muban ).

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Akat Amnuai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล อากาศอำนวย ) consists of parts of the tambon Akat Amnuai,
  • Samakkhi Phatthana ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สามัคคี พัฒนา ) consists of the whole tambon Akat Amnuai,

In addition, there are seven " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
