Career

Even as a 17 -year-old brought Bissi under her birth name their first singles out, but were unsuccessful - just like their first two albums La mia poca grande eta (1975) and Cosa resta un fiore (1978 ) for which she the pseudonym Alice Visconti used it. Only the cooperation with Cantautore Franco Battiato was the breakthrough. The first joint album Capo nord ( 1980) - now as Alice - became a little respect for success. The resulting single from the Il vento caldo dell ' estate, however, was the surprise hit. With Per Elisa she won the Sanremo Festival in 1981, reached the number 2 position of the Italian charts and sold half a million singles. The success was repeated in many European countries ( Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, Belgium, Finland), where she was e Poveri part of a wave of Italian singing of pop and rock music with artists such as Gianna Nannini, Loretta Goggi and Ricchi. It was followed by two albums with attached Rockter pop music, Per Elisa and azimuth. Both albums were produced by Battiato. Their first self-produced album Falsi Allarmi (1983 ) was less successful than its predecessors. Your greatest success in Germany she had with "Una notte speciale", which even made it to eighth place in the best-selling singles of the year 1982.

In 1984 she had two hit singles with duets. On the one hand too close to the fire with the German singer Stefan Waggershausen, which was in Switzerland and Austria number 1 on the charts. On the other hand I treni di Tozeur, a new collaboration with Battiato, with whom she in 1984 finished fifth in the Euro Vision Song Contest. It was followed by the album Gioielli rubati ( " Stolen Jewels " ) with cover versions of songs Battiato. Critics were about Alice's interpretations of Battiato classics divided, but the audience liked the album, especially in France and Germany.

From 1986 Alice wanted reinforced implement their own ideas, yet introverted and personal, but also melodic. With each album, new musical aspects were added. Due to influences of folk, New Age, Hip Hop, Dance, Electro, rock and other genres to their range extended continuously. The first result of this " new artistic life " was the 1986 album Park Hotel on whom she worked, inter alia, with Tony Levin and Phil Manzanera. For this album, the single Nomadi comes. Albums such as Il sole nella pioggia (1989 ) or Charade ( 1995), although provided with clear influences of the current music trends and still released worldwide ( as far away as Asia), widely ignored. Their participation in the experimental ambient project Devogue found no significant echo. In 2000, Alice took after 20 years again at the Sanremo Festival part, but the hoped-for commercial comeback failed to materialize. Your title Il giornio dell'indipedenza landed on one of the rear ranks. In 2003 Viaggio in Italia out - a kind of musical journey through Italian sensibilities. With songs like Auschwitz connects serious issues with harmonic pop sounds. Also worth mentioning are their trips to sophisticated musical areas, such as when they are guest appearances with Pasolini texts or singing in churches spiritual songs from her album God is my DJ.
