In the local area itself, there are archaeological finds, which prove a settlement for the New Age, including a villa rustica; near a stately Roman Noric burial ground. After the fall of the Roman Empire, Slavic peasants settled here.

With the taking possession by the Bavarians and the beginning of the systematic uprooting and settlement policies of the great Bavarian monasteries, the story is detectable by written sources. From this time, the oldest entries originate some districts.

The location of All Saints was built around the castle Herbersdorf, near which Markwart of Herbersdorf 1218 a church for himself and his subjects had built. The Herber villages had the rule until 1609 held, as this went over with the death of the last Herber Dorfers to the Glojacher. The Glojacher had to sell to the Jesuits because of high tax liabilities Herbersdorf.

Due to the raging plague in Graz in 1680 was the teaching of the scholastics of the Graz University, at that time, installed under Jesuit leadership in place. With Jesuit support the church of the small town was unusually expanded magnificently. 1773, when the order of the Jesuits was dissolved, the rule went over to the state religious funds. Through the consequent abolition of the state seigniory mid-19th century important functions were transferred to the newly created municipalities and the history of the place separated from the Castle, whose owner had for centuries dominated the place.
