Usain Bolt won the biggest winning margin (0.64 seconds) that has ever been achieved in an Olympic final of the 200 meters. Chur Andy Martina finished the race in 19.82 seconds, Wallace Spearmon in 19.95 seconds. This would have meant for Martina silver and bronze for Spearmon. However, Spearmon was disqualified for leaving his car. The U.S. team placed a protest, the proof of the infraction, however, was rendered. It was also recognized that Martina had just left his car. The protest was upheld, Martina was disqualified, so that the two Americans Crawford and Dix received silver and bronze. The NOC of the Netherlands Antilles put a protest which was rejected by the International Sports Court on March 6, 2009.
Silver Medal for Shawn Crawford (USA)
Bronze Medal for Walter Dix (USA)
Brian Farai (ZIM ) reached No. 4
Kim Collins ( SKN ) reached # 6
In the final disqualified: Wallace Spearmon (USA)
Also disqualified: Churchill Andy Martina ( AHO)
