Bad Füssing
Bad Fussing is a municipality in the Lower Bavarian district of Passau and a spa in the Lower Bavarian spa triangle. The thermal Fussing is the economic center of the newly formed in 1971 from the communities Safferstetten, Egglfing am Inn, Würding and Aigen village of Bad Fussing.

Geographical location
Bad Fussing located in the southern district of Passau in the flat Pockinger Heath and am Inn, a bridge into the Upper Austrian mountain crosses the River Inn.
Together with Bad Birnbach and Bad Griesbach Bad Fussing is the " Lower Bavarian spa triangle ".

History
In the year 735 the Bavarian Duke Hugibert gave away the good Safer Stetten on the Archbishopric of Salzburg. 1441 replaced the Canons chapter Mattighofen with the Bishop of Passau, Leonhard von Laiming a Hofmark Safferstetten against the Hofmark Reding.
The district Aigen am Inn is first mentioned around the year 1010 in the historical records and is also known for its Leonhardifahrt that on the first Sunday attracts riders from Bavaria and the Alpine countries annually in November. Since the Middle Ages is the worship of St.. Leonhard in Aigen witnessed. The village is regarded as the germ in Lower Bavaria widespread veneration of this saint.
Until Reichsdeputationshauptschluss in 1803, with the passauische since 1175 rule Ried castle and the whole bishopric of Passau came to the electorate and later the Kingdom of Bavaria, part of the municipality only the hamlet Fussing the Electorate of Bavaria, the rest was passauisch. With the Bavarian town of 1818 the political communities Safferstetten, Egglfing caused to the Inn, and Würding Aigen.
After 1938 in the search for oil thermal springs were found in the former Safferstettener district Fussing, the cure began in the 1950s. In 1969 the district Fussing the title "Bad" was awarded. Mayor
First mayor is Alois Brundobler (CSU ), who was re-elected on 2 March 2008 unopposed with 94.73 percent of the vote. The second is the mayor Diploma in International Business Studies ( Univ.) Günter Köck (CSU ). Third mayor is the farmer Leonhard Brauneis (WG Aigen / Inn).

Coat of arms

Coat Explanation: The stylized heraldic fountain symbolizes the spa Fussing, originated in 1972 from the communities Safferstetten, Egglfing am Inn, Würding and Aigen and thus also stands for the suffix " Bad". The chain is an attribute of Saint Leonard of Noblat and recalls the existing long time Leonhard pilgrimage to Aigen. Bad Fussing leads the coat of arms since 1973 due to the council decision and approval of the Government of Lower Bavaria by letter of 20 February 1973.
Economy and infrastructure
Traffic
The community is connected via the federal highway 3 (exit Pocking ), the Federal Highway 12 and the railway station in Pocking ( line Mühldorf -Passau ) to the transport network. Saturday's is bound to this by one of the last holiday Intercity trains to and from Hamburg. In addition, since May 28, 2011 combines a daily express the DB subsidiary OVF Nürnberg Hbf with Bad Fussing.
