Beaverhead County, Montana
Beaverhead County is a county located in the state of Montana in the United States. It was founded in 1864. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Dillon, the largest and most important city in the county.
Geography
The federal agency, according to the United States Census Bureau County has 77 square kilometers of which accounts for a total area of 14,432 square kilometers (0.53 percent) to water areas. Thus, geographically largest county in Montana. The county is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Deer Lodge County, Silver Bow County, Madison County, Fremont County, Clark County, Lemhi County and Ravalli County.

According to the census of 2000, there were 9,202 people in the county. There were 3,684 households and 2,354 families. The population density was 1 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 95.86 % White, 0.18 % African American, 1.46 % Native American, 0.18 % Asian, 0.04 % Pacific Islander residents from the and 1.09 % from other races groups; 1.18% were descended from two or more races. 2.67 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 3,684 households out of which 30.10 % have children under the age of 18 living with them. 54.80 % were married couples living together, 6.20 % had a female householder with no husband. 36.10 % were non-families. 29.70 % of all households and 11.00% had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.36 and the average family size was 2.95 persons.
Based on the county the population was spread out with 24.60 % under the age of 18, 11.90 % from 18 to 24, 25.10% from 25 to 44 years, 24.90% between 45 and 64 years and 13.60% were 65 years old or older. The average age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 105.00 males to 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.50 males.
The median income for a household was $ 28,962, and the median income for a family was $ 38,971. Males have a median income of $ 26,162, women $ 18,115. The per capita income was $ 15,621. 17.10% of the population and 12.80% of families are below the poverty line. 20.30% of those under age 18 and 12.20% were 65 years or older.
