Cadillac Escalade

The Escalade is a SUV - series of the U.S. car manufacturer Cadillac. As a basis for the series chassis are from the GM group, the Escalade serves the upper market segment. The first generation came to market in 1999.

The model is available in three body variants, which were introduced at different times:

The second generation was released in the fall of 2001 on the new GMT -800 chassis as a vehicle of model year 2002. Until the sale of the first generation both generations were sold at the same time. In spring 2002, the first time the Escalade EXT was introduced. This pickup version has a cabin for five people who can climb through four doors. The longer by 610 mm EXT version is based on the longer chassis of the Chevrolet Suburban / GMC Yukon XL.

As motorization were two engines to choose from. The third generation of the Escalade, based on the GMT -900 chassis was introduced in the fall of 2006. In the first months of sales, the vehicles were only available as a 4WD variants, then as a 2WD variant. The third generation of the Cadillac Escalade is powered by a 6.2L Vortec 6200 V8. Furthermore, since the end of 2010, a 6.0L Vortec V8 6000 available as a full hybrid. Pure electric driving is thus for short distances up to 40 km / h.
