Chios (regional unit)

Chios (Greek Χίος ) is one of the five regional districts of the Greek region of Northern Aegean (Greek Vorio Egeo, Βόρειο Αιγαίο ). Its territory comprises the islands of Chios, Psara ( Ψαρά ) Andipsara ( Αντίψαρα ), the island group Inousses ( Οινούσσες ) as well as several small islands in the eastern Aegean. Until the administrative reform of 2010, the territory had the status of a prefecture, the regional district Chios sent ten deputies in the regional, but also has no political significance.

Capital is the city of Chios ( Χίος ( f sg ) ) on the island of the same name.
