Dingolfing-Landau

The district of Dingolfing- Landau is located in the western center of the Bavarian administrative district of Lower Bavaria.

Geography

The district of Dingolfing- Landau is crossed from west to east of the Isar. In the north of the Isar River, the south and the Aitrach the Vilstal. All three rivers are right tributaries of the Danube, which flow outside of the district. The landscape in the district is flat and partly hilly and reaches heights in the south to about 500 m. The geographical center of the county was determined between the towns Mamming and Bubach.

Neighboring counties are in the northern part of the district of Straubing -Bogen, in the east of Deggendorf district, in the southern district of Rottal -Inn and west of the district of Landshut.

History

The area of present-day district of Dingolfing- Landau belonged early to Bavaria. 1803, the District Court of Landau was built in the district, which belonged to the lower Danube Circle from 1808. For parts of its territory in 1838, the district courts Dingolfing and Osterhofen were built. All district courts belonged then to the district of Lower Bavaria. 1862 created in the course of the separation of judicial and administrative authorities at a lower level, the district offices Dingolfing Landau addition to the previous same regional court districts, the district court Dingolfing gave some churches that henceforth the judicial district Arnstorf formed, which was assigned to the district office Eggenfelden. It should be noted that " county " in the Bavarian administrative language corresponded to today's district, while "Circle" of their middle management, ie the present " district " meant. The area Osterhofen came his time to the district office Vilshofen. As part of local government reform in 1972, the counties Dingolfing and Landau were ( with the exception of Lailling, now the municipality of Otzing, district of Deggendorf, belongs ) and the municipalities of Mühlhausen and Süßkofen of the district Mallersdorf and the municipalities front Hausen and Rampoldstetten of the district Vilsbiburg to a new district together, the first of the name of the district of Lower Isar received, but was renamed on 1 May 1973 in the district of Dingolfing -Landau.

A partnership exists with the county Lomza in Poland since 1999.

Blazon: sub main shield with the Bavarian lozenges divided; front in red a silver lion that rises on a silver four mountain side, (formerly Counts of Leonberg ) divided the back of the notch cut three times by red and silver (formerly Bishopric of Regensburg )

Economy and infrastructure

The most important companies in the district is the Dingolfing plant of BMW AG.

Job centers are adjacent Landau adIsar ( Einhell AG, Dräxlmaier, automotive ), Pilsting ( VISEON Bus GmbH ) and Marklkofen ( Mann & Hummel, filter production )

Traffic

The former district town of Landau received in 1875 by the Bavarian AG Ostbahnen their first station on the route Plattling - Neumarkt St. Veit - - Mühldorf. In neighboring Pilsting the Bavarian state railway line was from 1880 colorado up to Landshut - Munich branch.

1903 by Landau took the governmental local railway to Arnstorf their output with a 1915 opened branch-line to Kröhstorf. Both railways lost 1962/64 persons; as 1969/70 and the section Pilsting - Neumarkt St. Veit - on the railway line Mühldorf - Pilsting. Thus, the network of passenger trains of 95 km shrank to now only 36 km; these hold only in the three stations Dingolfing Landau and Waller village in the district.
