Donald M. Fraser

Fraser studied until 1944 as part of the Naval ROTC at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. From 1944 to 1946 he served as a radar officer in the Pacific Ocean. In 1948 he finished his studies at the University of Minnesota and was admitted in the same year in the legal profession. Fraser practiced now in Minneapolis.

From 1954 to 1962 he was a member of the Senate from Minnesota. Then Fraser joined the Congress, in which he was selected as the candidate of the Democratic - Farmer-Labor Party. There he took from 3 January 1963 to 3 January 1979, the state of Minnesota in the House of Representatives of the United States. In 1978, he opted not to run again for a seat in the House of Representatives and tried instead to be elected to the Senate of the United States. This plan failed, however; he lost already in the Democratic Primary Bob Short, who subsequently lost the Senate election to Republican David Durenberger. 1979 Fraser was elected beginning in January 1980 for mayor of Minneapolis for a two year term. 1981 and 1985 he was re-elected each for a term of four years. Fraser now lives in Minneapolis.
