Erik Paulsen

Erik Paulsen ( born May 14, 1965 in Bakersfield, California) is an American politician. Since 2009 he represents the state of Minnesota in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Erik Paulsen was born in California but grew up in Minneapolis (Minnesota). There he attended the public schools, including the Chaska High School, which he finished in 1983. Then he studied until 1987 at St. Olaf College in Northfield. He then worked as a businessman, before turning to politics.

Erik Paulsen is a member of the Republican Party. He worked on the staff of U.S. Senator Rudy Bosch joke and then for Congressman Jim Ramstad. Between 1995 and 2008 Paulsen was a deputy in the House of Representatives from Minnesota. There he directed between 2002 and 2006, the fraction of the republican deputies. He was also a member of several committees. In 2008 he was a speaker at the Republican National Convention in Saint Paul, was nominated at the Senator John McCain as a presidential candidate.

In the congressional elections of 2008, Erik Paulsen was in the third electoral district of Minnesota in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC selected. There he came into effect on 3 January 2009 in the footsteps of Jim Ramstad, who had supported his candidacy prevail. Paulsen is a member of the Committee on Financial Services and three subcommittees. He voted against health care reform by President Barack Obama and rejected other legislative proposals from the federal government. His current term of office runs until 3 January 2011.

Erik Paulsen is married. By 2008, he had three daughters with his wife Kelly.
