Frank Eddy

Frank Marion Eddy ( born April 1, 1856 in Pleasant Grove, Olmsted County, Minnesota, † January 13, 1929 in Saint Paul, Minnesota ) was an American politician. Between 1895 and 1903 he represented the state of Minnesota in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

In 1860, Frank Eddy moved with his parents for three years after Iowa. Then he settled in Olmsted County, Minnesota down. In 1867 he moved to Sauk Centre in Stearns County. In these places, he attended the public schools. Then he taught himself for some time as a teacher before he was working as a Lander Kunder for the Northern Pacific Railroad 1881-1882. After a move to Glenwood Eddy was 1884-1893 court clerk at the District Court in Pope County.

Politically, Eddy member of the Republican Party. In the congressional elections of 1894 he was in the seventh constituency of Minnesota in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Haldor Boen on March 4, 1895. After three re- elections, he was able to complete 1903 four contiguous legislatures in Congress until March 3. In this time of the Spanish-American War was from 1898. Between 1901 and 1903 Frank Eddy was Chairman of the Mining Committee.

In 1902, Eddy refused another candidacy. From 1901 to 1907 he was the owner and editor of the newspaper " Sauk Centre Herald ". Between 1907 and 1915, Eddy worked as a writer and reciter. In 1916 he was hired at the immigration office of Minnesota. Then he moved to Saint Paul, where he was working as a journalist again. Since 1918, Eddy was employed by the state government of Minnesota in the motor pool of the Secretary of State. A post he retained until his death in 1929.
