Edsilia Rombley

Edsilia Rombley ( artist name Edsilia; born February 13, 1978 in Amsterdam) is a Dutch singer.

Rombley managed their breakthrough in 1996 by winning the Dutch talent competition Soundmixshow. In April 1997, she also won the European final of this event.

The following year, she won under the name Edsilia Hemel en Aarde entitled the Nationaal Song Festival in the Netherlands and thus qualified for the Euro Vision Song Contest in Birmingham. There, she reached the fourth place and thus created the best placement for the Netherlands since the triumph of Teach -In at Euro Vision Song Contest 1975.

In 2007 she appeared for the Netherlands with the song On Top of the World again at the Euro Vision Song Contest, but failed in the semis in Helsinki, where she took a 21th Place.

She is married to the composer Tjeerd Oosterhuis.
