The FK Dynamo Moscow (Russian Футбольный клуб « Динамо » Москва, Futbolny club " Dinamo " Moscow ) is a Russian which originate from the Sport Club Dynamo Moscow football club and is in Moscow, the capital of the country, home.

History

Soviet Union

The now independent club was founded on 18 April 1923 as the football department of the sports club Dynamo Moscow. In 1936 Dynamo was a founding member of the Soviet League and remained as one of only two teams, in addition to Dynamo Kiev, since 1936 - except for the interruption of gaming operations during the Great Patriotic War - always in the respective highest Soviet league and is never in the 2. descended Soviet League. Dynamo Moscow is eleven times Soviet Champion and was only by the Ukrainian club Dynamo Kiev, who is thirteen won championships Soviet record title holders, as well as of the city rivals Spartak Moscow ( 12x) exceeded. Russia

Dynamo Moscow was after the collapse of the Soviet Union, one of the founding members of the newly created Russian Supreme League. Right in the first two seasons, 1992 and 1993, the team took the third place in the table, respectively. In the following season, the first runner-up could be fought for, which is the best performance of the team in the Russian league. In the seasons 1997 and 2008, respectively, the third rank was conquered again. Otherwise, the slots were used in the secure mid-table.

In the 2011/12 season the team from Moscow could reach the third place in the standings. Thus Dynamo participated in the qualification for the UEFA Europa League 2012/13, where they were eliminated, however, against the German representatives VfB Stuttgart 0:2 and 1:1 in the play-off round.

Stadium

The FK Dynamo Moscow plays its home matches at the 37,684 -seat Dynamo Stadium, which was built back in 1928. Since 2009 Dynamo Moscow takes for its home games at the Arena Khimki, as the home ground is for the Football World Cup in 2018 completely rebuilt.

Since 2009, the main sponsor of the club is the largest Russian bank Vneshtorgbank.
