Flag of Trinidad and Tobago

The flag of Trinidad and Tobago was introduced on 31 August 1962.

Importance

In the national flag, red represents the vitality of the nation and its people as well as the warmth and energy of the sun. White symbolizes the sea surrounding the islands, the purity of national aspirations and the equality of all people. Black represents the unity and vigor of the population and the country's wealth.

History

Blue Ensigns were used by the British colony until 1962. Some times has been changed in this time the emblem.

The personal flag of the British Queen Elizabeth II has since 1976 Trinidad and Tobago is a republic no longer in use.
