Flag of Montserrat

The flag of Montserrat was introduced on 10 April 1909.

It is a Blue Ensign, with the Union Jack in the upper left corner and the coat of arms of Montserrat on the right side. This shows Erin personalizing Ireland, which is, inter alia, on the golden harp, another symbol of Ireland, apparent. In this way the Irish descent of much of European immigrants to the colony is shown.
