Flag of Aruba

The flag of Aruba was officially introduced, along with the national anthem Aruba Dushi Tera on March 18, 1976. This date was chosen because on 18 March 1948, the Netherlands accepted the right of Aruba to choose the autonomy status in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The flag of Aruba has four colors: yellow bunting, delphinium - blue ( the color of the UN), Union Jack Red and White. The blue stands for the sea surrounding Aruba. Yellow is the color of wealth of the island is by gold, aloe vera and petroleum industry. Red symbolizes the love of Arubans for their country and the historic timber industry. White symbolizes the snow-white beaches, but also the purity of the heart of the pursuit of justice, order and freedom, people of Aruba.

The symbols of the flag consisting of a red star and two yellow stripes. They represent more than 40 nationalities who immigrated to the country. The star also stands for the islands themselves, surrounded by the blue sea. The horizontal stripes characterize the free and separate position which Aruba enjoys in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
