Flag of Venezuela

1806 by Francisco de Miranda, the first time hoisted the flag of Venezuela from May 1817 showed first seven, then from November 1817 eight stars. While the flag wholesale Colombia (1819-1830) and then the flag of Venezuela ( 1830 ) initially showed no stars, seven stars were in 1859 on the flag shown their presentation varied until the final legal determination in 1954. Since March 12 2006 carries the flag of Venezuela eight stars.

She is tri-color, the colors are interpreted generally as follows:

  • Yellow symbolizes the sun and the golden soil of South America.
  • Blue stands for independence from Spain and the sea, which separates Venezuela from Spain.
  • Red stands for courage and the bloodshed during the revolutionary Simón Bolívar to Venezuela.

Eight white five-pointed star in the blue stripes stand for the seven provinces, which have borne the independence. Launched in 2006, eighth star goes back to a decree Simón Bolívar of 1817, when the independence of Guyana should be appreciated by the introduction of the eighth star.
