Founex

Founex is a municipality in the district of Nyon in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.

Geography

Founex is located on 398 m above sea level. M., 15 km north -east of Geneva (air line). The village is located near the western shore of Lake Geneva on a slightly towards the lake sloping hillside.

The area of ​​4.8 km ² large municipality area includes a section on the western shore of Lake Geneva. History

At Le Gachet traces of a Roman settlement and a milestone were found. The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1224 under the name Fosnay 1251 appeared the name Founai.
