The division Bavaria is the sixth- highest division in German football and is under the care of the Bavarian Football Association (BFV ).

History

The division was divided into squadrons North, Central and South since its formation as a fourth league 1963/64 ( establishing the Bundesliga) by 2011 /12. From 1994/95 it was fünftklassig ( reintroduction of the regional leagues ), with the 2008/ 09 season sechstklassig ( Launch of the 3rd league). Until 2010/11 qualified from the three squadrons each of the masters for the Bavarian League. The three second-placed teams determined in a relegation round with the fourth- last of the Bavarian league the last participant. The substructure of the national league was formed in 1988 /89 to 2011/12 Bezirksoberliga, which was divided ( for each Bavarian administrative region ) in seven seasons.

Since the 2012/13 season, the division is divided into five regional groups Northwest, Northeast, Central, Southwest and Southeast and is the sixth- highest division represents the base form 15 seasons of the District League, the district of Upper leagues were canceled.
