Jack Gelineau

John Edward "Jack" Gelineau ( born November 11, 1924 in Toronto, Ontario, † 15 November 1998) was a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender of the during his playing career for the Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League on the position goalkeeper played.

Career

Jack Gelineau started his professional career in 1948 with the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and won in his first three missions in the season 1948/49, twelve goals. A year later, he ran on as goalkeeper of the Bruins and pointed end of the season with the team in a negative overall balance, as the play-offs were missed. At season's end, he was nevertheless awarded the Calder Memorial Trophy as the best rookie. A year later improved his results and those of the team and Gelineau reached with Boston for the first time the play-offs. In the first round followed by five games against the Toronto Maple Leafs departure from the competition. In 1951 he went to the Quebec Aces, for which he ran aground and 1955 in the QSHL and QHL and in between two NHL games for the Chicago Blackhawks played, where he received nine goals and was again demoted to the Aces.
