Janet Royall, Baroness Royall of Blaisdon

Janet Royall, Baroness Royall of Blaisdon PC ( born August 20, 1955 in Gloucester) is a British politician of the Labour Party.

Life

After her schooling at the Royal Forest of Dean Grammar School Royall studied Spanish and French at Westfield College, University of London. 1977 Royall reached the Bachelor. After her studies she was adviser to the Labour Party politician Neil Kinnock in the 1980s and 1990s.

From 3 October 2008 to 11 May 2010 was Royall Leader of the House of Lords and thus a member of the cabinet of Gordon Brown. As of June 5, 2009 was Royall Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. With the resignation of Gordon Brown as Prime Minister, she resigned from the government.

Royall is married to Stuart Hercock and has three children. On 25 June 2004 Royall, Baroness Royall was promoted to Blaisdon of Gloucestershire.
