Jens Müller (luger)

Jens Müller ( born July 6, 1965 in Torgau ) is a former German luger.

Jens Mueller began for the ASK forward Oberhof and the BSR Rennsteig Oberhof. He belonged to the late 1980s to 2002, the best German lugers. The highlight of his career was the Olympic gold medal at the 1988 Olympics in Calgary.

Later, in addition to numerous places on the podium at the European and World Championships, he could be in Sigulda and 2000 in Winterberg European champions and 2000 world champion in St. Moritz in 1996. After his playing career, Müller became a coach and coached among others, the Winter Sportswoman Steffi Jacob.

Since 1988, Jens Müller is an honorary citizen of Ilmenau in Thuringia. In the same year he received the Patriotic Order of Merit in gold.
