List of castles and palaces in Denmark

In this list, castles and fortresses in Denmark as well as Danish manor houses, palaces and fortified manor houses on which construction began in the 19th century at the latest.

  • Lille Borg: ruined castle on Bornholm, which dates from the mid-12th century

  • Castle Kalø: The medieval castle on the Danish island Kalø served in 1518 as a prison for Gustav I Vasa.
  • Nørre Vosborg: Historical manor house in Vemb. He now hosts a conference hotel and cultural center.
  • Castle Rose Holm: four wings at Hornslet in the style of the Italian Ranissance
  • Spøttrup Castle: Best Held medieval castle in Denmark. It is located northwest of Skive in Jutland.

  • Marselisborg Palace: Residence of the Royal Family in Aarhus, built in 1902 for Christian and Alexandrine of Denmark
  • Castle Løvenholm (formerly Gjesing Holm ) in the village Gjesing in Jutland.
