Louvigny (Moselle)
Louvigny is a commune with 840 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Metz- Campagne and Canton Verny.
Geography
The community Louvigny located 18 kilometers south of Metz on the border with the department of Meurthe -et -Moselle. The seille forms the western boundary of the municipality. In the municipality of Louvigny is the TGV Lorraine TGV train station, four kilometers away from the village center, the airport is Metz -Nancy- Lorraine.
History
The village belongs since 1552 to France.
From 1915 to 1918, carried the Germanized name Love Willingen, 1940-1944 Loweningen. At the liberation from German occupation it was badly damaged in the fall of 1944.
