Lower Saxon Hills

The Weser and the Weser -Leine Bergland ( Lower Saxony Bergland ), is an up to 528 m above sea level. NN high central mountain region in southern Lower Saxony, North Rhine -Westphalia in the northeastern and northern Hesse. It is a part of the German Low Mountain Range. At the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation is performed under number D36 in the list of main physiographic unit groups in Germany.

The new main unit group D 36 summarizes the old main unit groups 36, 37 and 53, each of which includes parts of the Weser mountain country in the narrower and broader sense. Meanwhile go all three parts, despite their ( misleading ) name, far beyond the commonly held and reported in atlases Weser mountain country beyond.

The Weser -Leine Bergland (37 ) further comprises the complete Leinebergland while indeed in parts of Lower Saxony, but erdzeitalterlich significantly older resin is not recognized as Lower Saxony's mountains and its own main unit group ( D37 ) has.

Lower Weser Uplands

In addition to the Osning ( = Teutoburg Forest, to 446 m ) and the Wiehengebirge ( to 320 m) include in particular the historic landscapes Tecklenburger country and the Osnabrück country to this large landscape in the ( northern) west of Lower Saxony's mountain country.

This landscape type includes the Solling ( to 528 m) and elsewhere the center of gravity of the Lower Saxony mountain country and further the fine in relief mountainous area on the northern Interface to loess and lowlands.
