Malaya at the 1956 Summer Olympics

Malaya took part in the Summer Olympic Games 1956 in Melbourne, Australia part of a delegation of 32 athletes (31 men and one woman) in 13 competitions in five sports. There were no medals to be won. The youngest athlete was the float Fong Seow Hor (19 years and 327 days), the oldest athlete was the hockey player Gian Singh (28 years and 313 days). It was the first participation of the country in the Olympic Summer Games. Standard-bearer was the weightlifter Tan Bee Kim.
