Möggers

Möggers is a municipality in the district of Bregenz in Vorarlberg with 499 inhabitants (December 31, 2013).

The municipality is located in the region Leiblachtal and is bordered to the east and northeast of the German Westallgaeu ( district of Lindau ). The neighboring town of Scheidegg is only a few kilometers away. When looking into the West you can, from the place from which overlooks the German town of Lindau, Lake Constance.

History

In 1591 Möggers was first mentioned in records. The instrument is of the " Hof zem oggers the lords of Badenweiler " the speech. Hamlet could indeed mean place here, but thinks all probability the place Weiler im Allgäu.

The municipal council consists of 12 members, all of the municipal council list Möggers ( single list, which ran in the 2010 election ) belong. Mayor is George Bantel.

The municipality revenue from taxes and other charges in 2001 were at 548 445 euros, the municipal expenditure at 1,136,312 Euros. The debt was 2001 1.266.491 €.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was created in 1969 after a design by the artist and Schrunser heraldist Konrad Honold.

At the site there were in 2003 four companies in the industrial sector with 19 employees. Taxable wage -employed, there were 236 agriculture plays an important role. The proportion of agricultural land in the total area is 50.5 percent. At the site there are (as of January 2003) 49 students. In Möggers there is also a kindergarten.
