Monterubbiano

Monterubbiano ( in the local dialect: Muntrubbià ) is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2332 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Province of Fermo in the Marche. The community is located approximately 8.5 kilometers south of Fermo. The southern boundary of the municipality forms of Aso.

History

The Piceno settled here in the 9th to 3rd century BC. From 268 prior to about 1200 AD, it was an independent city or town, which was destroyed by the Goths in the 5th century.
