Cefiro A31 ( 1988-1994)

The first generation of the Cefiro was launched in September 1988 and offered to the customer for that time very many high -tech innovations. The A31 was designed as a sporty sedan and used as a basis the underbody of the Skyline R32. With this he shared therefore some technical details such as the six-cylinder, rear wheel drive, all-wheel steering and a five-speed automatic transmission. The Cefiro also came up with a wide range of engines, which also included an engine with turbocharging. Because of the strong engine, these models are enjoying great popularity in the drift scene.

Cefiro A32 (1994-1998)

With the second generation of the Cefiro, which came on the market in August 1994, was dispensed with the sporting genes of its predecessor and designed the new model as a luxurious and comfortable vehicle. The drive was now over the front wheels and three newly developed V6 engines were installed to replace the old six-cylinder. The A32 Cefiro is also the only generation that was available as a five-door station wagon next to the four-door notchback sedan. This was sold from June 1997.

The third generation of the Cefiro was the last to be built and sold in Japan this model, the launch was in December 1998. For the new model, only two V6 engines were available, a 2.0 liter from the previous model, and a 2.5 liter with direct injection. Due to the reduced choice of extras and motors of A33 produced no good sales figures, only in Malaysia, he found a larger paragraph.

A successor was placed in Japan under the name of Teana model. This was sold in certain markets as Cefiro.

Cefiro J31 (2003 to 2012)

The fourth generations was last built only in China and Thailand. In the latter, however, only as a CKD kit and with its own interior. The identical Nissan Teana is here mainly sold as a Japanese import, and therefore sells the CKD models mainly in China. There are differences here despite the same engine, especially in the equipment. Built in China model is available only with automatic transmission and all-leather appointments; the Thai model, however, only with fabric and optional manual or automatic transmission. Even in the special features, the Thai model is far inferior. Main markets of the Cefiro are mainly conurbations such as Hong Kong and Shanghai. Until the late 2012, the Cefiro rolled only in the Pakistani Ghandhara Nissan Ltd.. from the tape. In all other markets, the model name between 2007 and 2009 has been changed with the introduction of the new generation under the model code J32 to Teana.
